The largest mountain range in China is the Himalayas.

Located on the southern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, it is the highest mountain range in the world, with 1 10 peaks reaching or exceeding 7350 meters above sea level. It is the natural dividing mountain between East Asia and South Asia subcontinent, and also the natural border between China and Indian, Nepalese, Bhutanese, Pakistani and other countries. It starts from Nanga-Palbat Peak in Kashmir in the west (elevation 8 125m) and ends at Nanga Bawa Peak at the bend of Yarlung Zangbo River in the east (elevation 7782m), with a total length of 3400km and a width of 200~350km. The Himalayas are discharged by 19 major rivers, of which the Indus River and the Yarlung Zangbo River are the largest, each with a mountain catchment area of about 259,000 square kilometers.
