First, the fairy tale about stone is said to have been circulated in Shi Gandang, and it comes from folk feudal superstitions and customs. So there are many stories that science can't explain, and there are also many myths related to Lingshi circulating among the people. For example, the well-known goddess of mending the sky uses colored stones. Although there are different descriptions of colored stones in folklore, most of them are mainly stones. It is also recorded in Huainanzi that stones are spiritual and have the ability to breed all things. There is also one of the most famous figures, that is, the Monkey King, the protagonist in the mythical novel The Journey to the West. He is a creature jumping out of a crack in the stone. It is said that he absorbed the essence of heaven and earth and gave birth to a stone monkey. From these fairy tales, it is enough to see that people at that time believed in stones.
Second, Shi Gandang's records about Shi Gandang should be traced back to the Han Dynasty at the earliest. At that time, some well-known people named Shi were listed in some documents, among which the explanation of the word "dare to act" was invincible. The earliest recorded object of Shi Gandang is Shi Gandang in Tang Dynasty unearthed in Song Dynasty, but it is different from what we see now. It is buried underground, and the 36 words on the Shi Gandang mainly convey the purpose of exorcising evil spirits and keeping peace. This established the efficacy of Shi Gandang in exorcising evil spirits and treating diseases. General Shi refers to a warrior in the Five Dynasties, because he saved Jin Gaozu and later generations sacrificed him, and because of this legend in Shi Gandang, he was described as a man who made a fortune in adversity.
People's belief in Shi Gandang actually comes from primitive people's worship of Lingshi. Although Shi Gandang is a kind of belief and object with no scientific basis for modern people, it has also been included in the intangible cultural heritage, just as it is a truth to stick a blessing on the door to seek happiness.
