The most important building in the temple is the Kaishan Hall, which enshrines the spiritual tablet of Zen Master Sanjiang Shaoyi, the founder of Gaotai Temple. In the center of the Buddha's sandalwood is a statue of Zen Master Sanjiang Shaoyi, and on the right side is a wooden statue of Mr. and Mrs. Kinoshita Kaidei, the brother of the Beizhengsuo. What is commendable about this building is the front patio and the painted patio at the rear. It is said that they were directly framed with the boards from the imperial carriage of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's royal ship and his wife Hokusei's royal residence. The left and right sides are painted with human faces and bird bodies.
The Kaishan Hall is dedicated to the first Zen master Sanjiang Shaoyi. The hall is painted with pure gold. The ceiling is a relic of the royal ship and chariot that Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his wife rode during his lifetime.
On both sides of the Kaishan Hall are two man-made small lakes named "Wolong Pond" and "Yanyue Pond" respectively, which make people feel instantly interested. The Wolong Corridor is used as a connection between the Kaishan Hall and the Spiritual House, so that people can not only protect themselves from rain and shade, but also connect the two main buildings. The overall layout does not make people feel scattered. The memorial hall enshrines the memorial tablets of Hokkaido and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. On the left and right sides of the memorial tablets are the statues of Homasado and Toyotomi Hideyoshi respectively. The central shrine enshrines "Suiqiu Bodhisattva", the secret protective Buddha of Toyotomi Hideyoshi during his lifetime. It is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi's achievements were all due to his protection, and he is famous for his efficacious effects. The gorgeous paintings on Buddhist sandalwood and Buddhist niches are a bit like the gold tracing on our polished lacquer, very simple. The Japanese call it "Kodaiji Maki-e" (later, upon inquiry, it is called lacquer painting in my country), which is the essence of Japanese lacquer arts and crafts.
