Huang Xuchu’s former residence is located in Donghua Village, Yangcun Town, Rong County. It was built in the early Republic of China. It is a group of bungalows with a rectangular plan and brick and wood structure hanging on the top of the mountain. Huang Xuchu (1892-1975) was a native of Rong County. He studied with his father since childhood, and later studied at Rongxian Simple Normal School and Cangwu Changzhou Sericulture School. After the outbreak of the Revolution of 1911, he joined the revolutionary army and was admitted to the Guangxi Army Accelerated School in 1912, where he was a classmate of Li Zongren. In 1913, he was admitted to the China Army University. After graduating in 1916, he served as a staff officer to the military governor Tan Haoming. Due to his excellent management and training, he was appointed as the company commander of the Guangxi Army Model Battalion in 1917, participated in the war to protect the law, and was soon appointed as the battalion attached.
