Brief introduction of Lingyuan Temple

Lingyuan Temple is located at the foot of Robbie Peak in the back of Dongshan Mountain in Shi Qiaocun. Here, with beautiful mountains and rivers, it is a treasure trove of feng shui. Standing in the middle of the temple, behind it is the high Roby Peak, like a huge chair back, and the slopes on both sides are like two armrests of the chair back. Lingyuan Temple is surrounded by mountains on three sides and Taihu Lake on the west. The lake is wide and the mountain wind is floating. This kind of feng shui can also be said to be the land where dragons are born. This temple was built in the first year of Tian Jian in the Liang Dynasty (502) and was named after its spiritual spring. Count the Buddhist temples in Dongshan, such as Yuhua Temple, Zijin Temple, Longtoushan Temple and fahai temple. Only this temple has a large scale and a long history, making it the first of the ancient temples in Dongshan. Unfortunately, the temple was destroyed at the end of Yuan Dynasty and was not rebuilt until the Ming Dynasty. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the main hall of Lingyuan Temple actually collapsed, which was started by Wang Jin, a native of Dongshan. It has been more than 200 years now, and after the Taiping Army and the Cultural Revolution, temple buildings have been basically destroyed.
