Zhoushan fishing ground is built on upwelling. Zhoushan Fishing Ground is located in the northeast of Zhejiang, east of Hangzhou Bay and southeast of the Yangtze River estuary. It is the largest fishing ground in China, with four major economic fish: Pseudosciaena crocea, Pseudosciaena crocea, hairtail and cuttlefish. Zhoushan Fishing Ground is located near the east coast of the northern mainland of the East China Sea, and the southeast coast of the Yangtze River estuary is located outside the Qiantang River estuary and south of the fishing ground of the Yangtze River estuary, with an area of about 14350 square nautical miles.

The tidal current in Zhoushan fishing ground belongs to the regular semi-diurnal tidal zone, the peripheral islands are connected with the eastern waters, and the flow direction rotates clockwise, while the western waters and islands are arranged, and the reciprocating flow is prominent. The average monthly water temperature in fishing ground is 28℃ ~ 29℃ in summer and below 8℃ in winter.
