Houtan Park is one of the core green landscapes of Shanghai World Expo Park, located at the western end of 20 10 Shanghai World Expo Park, covering an area of 18 hectares. The original site is the former site of the Iron and Steel Plant (Pudong Iron and Steel Group) and Houtan Ship Repair Shop. It was designed by the local design team in early 2007 and completed in June 5438+ 10, 2009.
The park has preserved and improved the original 4 hectares of wetlands along the Huangpu River in the site. On this basis, the original cement revetment and wharf along the river were ecologically transformed. The vegetation of the whole park is native tree species suitable for the floodplain. Reed flutes are flying, tallow trees are in the forest, more fish are relaxing, and egrets are shining on the water, realizing the return of the "beach".
As the prospect and experiment of ecological civilization, the core of the park is a strip constructed wetland system with water purification function. It passes through sedimentation tanks, waterfall walls, terraces, wetland purification areas with different depths and different communities, and after a process of 1 km, it turns the inferior five types of water in Huangpu River into three types of purified water, with a daily purification capacity of 2400 cubic meters. The purified three kinds of water can not only supply the water features of the Expo site for recycling, but also meet the needs of greening irrigation and road washing in the Expo site and Houtan Park.
