Linfeng Village, formerly named Shuitian Village, Hongshizhai Village and Zhuwa Village, has a history of 140 years. There is Zhu Zhen House in the stockade, which is called "the first house on the south bank of Ruhe River", where ancient buildings in Ming and Qing dynasties abound.
I have been to Linfeng Village many times, mostly with others. At first, it gave me the feeling that there were so many. Moreover, compared with Qiao Family Courtyard, Kang Million Manor and Moujia Manor, Zhujia Courtyard in Linfeng Village is incomparable in scale, history and popularity.
But after reading the description of Lin Fengcun in Travel around China, I suddenly became curious about this once mysterious stockade. Besides, I regret my blind judgment. I feel that if I don't know a place, an object or a person, I must not judge its advantages and disadvantages, beauty and ugliness prematurely based on temporary feelings and superficial impressions.
I don't need to elaborate on the history, present situation, situation, legends, geomantic omen, gossip, architecture and cultural relics of the stockade. The current network is really convenient. Search online and you'll know everything. Let me pay attention to and think about: Zhujiayuan in this stockade, its glory, the fate of people illuminated by brilliant aura, and some thoughts caused by the decline after those glories.
According to legend, Zhu Jiazu's ancestral home was in Hong Tong, Shaanxi Province, and he immigrated here during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, this stockade was called "Zhang Jiageng". Later, Zhu grew stronger and stronger, gradually replacing Zhang and becoming a big family in the stockade. Therefore, the stockade was renamed as "Zhuwa Village". During Daoguang and Xianfeng years in Qing Dynasty, Zhu Huaizong, a branch of the Zhu family, and his three brothers, Zhu Zigui, Zhu Zhennan and Zhu Zifeng, became rich by salt trade and reached the peak.
After their success, Zhu's three brothers were respected by outsiders for their kindness and courage. But at this time, they are very worried about their huge wealth. In the last years of Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty (186 1), facing the complicated and chaotic times, the three Zhu brothers discussed the demolition of Tucun, invested huge sums of money to build Shi Cun, and built a protective village river around it. The whole stockade is like a boat floating on the water.
There are three houses of the Zhu brothers in the stockade. In particular, Zhu, known as the first mansion on the south bank of Ruhe River, is the official residence of the governor of salt transportation in Qing Dynasty, which was built in the 29th year of Qing Daoguang. The tall gatehouse, exquisite brick carvings, wood carvings, stone carvings and mottled colored paintings, with a horse nail every few steps, can still imagine Zhu's brilliance and prosperity.
At the home of three brothers, I remembered the family motto of "moving kindness" and "mending" hung on the lintel of the east and west wing of my second son Zhu Zhennan's house, which revived a lot of historical information and reminded me of the "Yu Duo" plaque of the public welfare Kang Million Manor, which was enough to know the warnings and instructions of those rich people to future generations.
Of course, the "bullet hole" of the equipment at the lower level of the main entrance, the "cat's eye" under the threshold for cats to pass through, and the dark passage of the secret passage also show the anxiety of Zhujiajian at that time, the vigilance under anxiety and the arrangement after vigilance; Of course, seeing the "embroidered building" of the young lady in the house also gives people a daydream that there are still beautiful and magnificent boudoir in chaos.
Later, the ending of Zhujiajian Island's family, like the ending of other quadrangles and manors such as Qiao's family, Kang's family and Mou's family, declined after one generation or several generations, and it declined miserably. Although they have such a rich family background, such sober family precepts and such strong fortifications, they are gradually declining, which makes people lament.
The rise and fall of these courtyards and manors are so similar, earth-shattering, and chaotic, among which there must be * * *. From here to there, I think, is this an act of god, and does it remind us of something through them?
I am thinking: whether in the past or now, when wealth is accumulated immorally or uncontrolled, it may also be a hidden danger. The huge wealth accumulation of the Zhu brothers did not bring any sense of security, but caused unprecedented fear, so they built stone villages, strengthened their families and repaired fortifications.
It is conceivable that what they faced at that time was not the appreciation and joy of wealth, but a mental burden and a group of people lying on the pile of wealth and panicked.
Realizing the existence of danger is the sober mind of the Zhu family, but it seems too late to wake up. Because of the hidden danger of wealth accumulation, disaster is imminent. When the hidden danger becomes clear, you can retreat or fight back, but the outcome is out of your control.
Just like those greedy officials now, it seems that no matter how tight your umbrella is, how much you want to donate all your wealth, and how painfully you repent, it won't help. At the last moment, when you want to retreat to no way back, what kind of regret and helplessness people should have.
The arrival of disaster sometimes seems sudden, but in fact, the heart has long been loose and the heart has long collapsed. The feeling is a slow dumping. In fact, this slowness is sometimes like the momentum of dark clouds pressing the city. How can you resist? This dark dumping force will also make you helpless. Moreover, the thicker and stronger the barrier you build with your heart, the heavier and stronger the crushing pressure when it collapses.
This endless accumulation of wealth can only be explained by one cycle, that is, thirty years in Hedong and thirty years in Hexi. The cause of collapse is often manifested in the descendants of a dude who is supported by wealth. They don't know the source of wealth, and they don't know whether wealth can be squandered. Of course, they absolutely don't listen to any family education and ancient teachings, and they will collapse if they don't see that solid barrier.
When we see the decline of these families, we often hate the sons of these prodigal families. But don't these prodigals, if they are sober, hate the huge wealth that feeds them? Even if I don't think everything is good, sometimes it's not up to me to make a decision. Just like the theory of some corrupt officials now: there is no way to be greedy.
No matter how rich you are, you can't get rich. People at that time also realized it, otherwise there would be no such sober family precepts. But they realize that the rules have been set and the words have been said, but it is still difficult to recover the defeat. Finally, wealth spoiled children and grandchildren, children and grandchildren lost wealth, and wealth also harmed children and grandchildren. Now that people have realized it, I hope I can do better.
The Zhu family in Zhujiayuan, once brilliant, has passed. Visiting Linfeng Village, I think it should not only be a comment on old friends, a praise of architecture, a superstition of magical legends and gossip, but also provide some reference and enlightenment for our lives. We and I often ignore this. And this should be the most important.
