First, the horn doesn't ring, and there are three common fault parts, namely the horn itself, the horn switch contact and the horn wire harness. When a fault occurs, you can refer to the following steps for inspection.

1, sometimes it doesn't ring. Press the horn switch. If the horn sometimes rings, sometimes it doesn't, it's mostly due to poor internal contact of the horn switch, and some of it is also the problem of the horn itself.

2, hoarse voice. Most of them are due to poor contact of plugs, especially the contacts around the steering wheel, which are easy to wear due to frequent use.

3. Complete silence. First check whether the fuse is blown, then unplug the horn plug, and use a multimeter to measure whether there is electricity here when the horn switch is pressed. If there is no electricity, check the horn harness and horn relay; If there is electricity, it's the speaker itself. At this time, you can also try to adjust the adjusting nut on the speaker to see if it can make a sound. If it still doesn't ring, you need to replace the horn.

Second, maintenance

1. Contact ablation: Pressing the horn for a long time will easily lead to contact ablation of the horn, resulting in impedance, and the current flowing through the electromagnetic coil will be weakened. Electromagnetic attraction cannot attract the armature to drive the diaphragm to vibrate normally, resulting in hoarse or even silent pronunciation. But when honking the horn continuously, if the instantaneous strong current passes through the impedance and still works normally, it will be good and bad.

2. Loose sealing is easy to get wet: Although the interior of the horn is sealed, if the seal is not tight, it will enter fog or water vapor in the air in the interior space when washing the car, which will easily cause the contact to get wet and fail to work normally.

3. Poor contact of the electromagnetic coil terminals: some terminals of the enameled wire of the electromagnetic coil inside the horn are connected by aluminum rivets, and the welding is unreliable. If the insulating paint on the enameled wire at the end is not cleaned or the rivet is not reliable, it will easily lead to the failure of the virtual joint and lead to the poor operation of the horn. This failure is due to the quality problem of the horn, which cannot be repaired and can only be replaced with a new one.
