The terrain is high in the east and low in the west. This is a hilly area with a subtropical maritime monsoon climate. Sunny, abundant rainfall, warm and humid climate, with an annual average temperature of 265,438 0.2℃ and abundant rainfall.
It covers an area of 204 square kilometers, with 57,992 mu of cultivated land, 62,500 mu of woodland and 28 kilometers of coastline. The soil in mountainous areas and coastal areas belongs to loam, which is suitable for planting all kinds of crops in tropical and subtropical areas, while the soil in reclamation areas belongs to clay, which is suitable for planting aquatic crops such as rice. Reclamation area is the alluvial plain of Jiuzhou estuary, with fertile land, which is the main grain producing area of Lianjiang.
Jiuzhou River runs through the whole territory from northeast to southwest, with Yingzai River, Gaoshan River, small reservoirs 10, 436 ponds and high and low main canals 132 km. The reclamation area is rich in water resources, but the coastal hilly areas are short of fresh water resources.
