Nanwan Lake is located 5 kilometers southwest of Xinyang City, Henan Province, with Nanwan Lake as the center and mountains and islands as the scenic connotation. The water area of Nanwan Lake is 75 square kilometers, and 6/kloc-0 islands (three of which are now open) are scattered and have different scenery. The upstream of the lake is the main producing area of Xinyang Maojian tea, and the lake is rich in South Bay fish.
Nanwan was founded in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Xianyin Temple, which is as famous as Songshan Shaolin Temple, Kaifeng Suoguo Temple and Luoyang Baima Temple, is located in the valley at the foot of Xianshan Lake, with a history of 1500 years.
Since 199 1, Nanwan Lake Scenic Area has developed and built four scenic spots, namely Bird Island, Summer Island, Sheng Da Island, Xishan Scenic Aquarium, Tangwang Paradise, Tian Yang Lake, Diaoyutai, Longfei Pavilion in Dam Scenic Area, Miniature Garden in Pier Scenic Area and New Tourist Pier, forming 42 scenic spots and 6 tourist attractions in the four scenic spots above and below water.
