According to the list of top 800 soft science universities in China in 2023 (full version), Shenyang Institute of Engineering ranked 583. Shenyang Institute of Engineering was established in April 2003 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It was formed by the merger of Shenyang Electric Power Institute (founded in 1952) and Liaoning Business Vocational College (founded in 1947). It is a provincial undergraduate university with energy and electricity as its main subjects. The school focuses on engineering, with the coordinated development of engineering, management, economics and law. It was established by Liaoning Provincial People's Government and State Power Investment Corporation.
