The land was occupied, and the people in Northeast China suffered from the cruel war, which was in sharp contrast to the singing and dancing on the beach. Business women don't know how to hate their country, but they sing backyard flowers across the river, which shows that the people are numb and sad. Against this background, many patriots emerged, including Xu Niandong and Gu Yingming.
The play conveyed the great patriotic feelings of dying for the country at that time. Faced with the choice of life path, Xu Niandong and Gu Nianming were confused and took a detour. Finally, under the call of the producer, he realized his ego at the expense of himself, and he was a well-deserved national hero. However, the director's ending was too heroic. They were moved but divorced from the masses, failed to reach emotional resonance with the audience, and some ended badly.
The plot drags on and is not compact enough. The highlight is Shao Chuanyong, who plays the villain for the first time. He plays Xiao Wankun in the play, which properly balances the psychological entanglement and personality change of this role. Lin Baoyi, who plays Gu Nianming, has also attracted a lot of attention. In contrast, the protagonist Lin Zaiyun's role tension and expressiveness are not enough.
