Haizhou District is one of the three urban areas in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, which is located in the southwest of the urban area. It has jurisdiction over 3 towns,/kloc-0 townships and 4 sub-district offices, with an administrative area of 282.09 square kilometers and a total population of 228,000.
Haizhou is located in a warm temperate humid monsoon climate, with an annual average temperature of 14.0- 14.4℃. The terrain is mainly plain with a small amount of mountains, accounting for about 80% of the total area.
Haizhou Ancient City is the predecessor of Lianyungang City. It is located in the north of Jinping, only 5 kilometers away from the urban area. The Longhai Railway was built here. After Qin Shihuang unified China, in 2 12 BC, a county was built in Haizhou, and a stone pavilion was set up as the "East Gate of Qin Dynasty".

Haizhou has a long history. As early as the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, temples were built all over the country. After many investigations by monks at that time, it was determined that the southern slope of Xishan in Haizhou District was a treasure trove of geomantic omen, and temples were built here.
Because "hillside" is called "Haizhou" in Mongolian, this temple was named "Haizhou" Temple, from which Haizhou came. Haizhou District is rich in cultural heritage, and has trained famous sketch actor Huang Xiaojuan, famous disabled writer Wang Zhanjun and other celebrities.
