Handan has excellent traffic conditions and is located in the center of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces and the Central Plains Economic Zone. It is the only mega-city in the border area of the four provinces, about 200 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Jinan and Zhengzhou, and within 500 kilometers from metropolises such as Beijing and Tianjin. Handan is one of the national 179 important highway transportation hubs with convenient transportation. The Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Shenzhen Expressway and 107 National Highway, which run through the north and south of China, intersect with Changzhi-Handan-Jinan-Qingdao Railway, Qinglan Expressway and National Highway 309, forming a "five vertical and five horizontal" trunk highway network in China, and Handan International Airport is the national key. Among the border areas of the four provinces, only Handan has the conditions of railway crossing, national highway intersection, high-speed vertical and horizontal transit and airport three-dimensional traffic.
