When fishing in low temperature weather, should you fish in deep water or shallow water?

1. Winter fishing weather. The weather in winter is constantly changing. For example, fishermen's proverbs say: "Winter is warm when it is sunny and becomes cold when it is cloudy and rainy"; "It is cold in the morning and evening, and warm again at noon"; "It is warm before the cold wave and snow, and suddenly cold the day after the snow", etc., which illustrates the changes in cold and warm weather at different times. Condition. Why? Because the temperature and water temperature will inevitably drop sharply during the cold wave period and after snowfall. The fish at this time feel very uncomfortable with this. As if they have received an order, they hibernate in the deep water and cannot eat. At this time, they emerge. How can you get anything fishing? Therefore, when fishing in winter, you can only choose a sunny day with bright sunshine, preferably at noon (9 to 16 o'clock) and the first two days before snow. Because the weather will warm up quickly at this time, and the water temperature will be high and the fish will be active. Fish naturally know that this good time will not last long. They need to seize the opportunity to actively take in food to replenish their nutrition and heat energy to withstand the severe cold and harsh weather and survive the winter safely. As long as fishing friends pay attention to the local weather forecast, it is not difficult to choose the right weather, and they will enjoy the abundant fishing. 2. Selection of fishing spots. "Fishing beach in spring and fishing pond in winter". The pool is also a deep water area, but the deeper the water level is by no means the better for winter fishing. If it exceeds 5 meters, the bottom of the water will be dark, lack of oxygen, and have little food. Fish will not live in this water. For this reason, it is necessary to choose a place with moderate water depth and suitable for winter fish to live. When the weather is good and the water temperature is relatively high, it is advisable to choose a spot (nest) in the sunny and leeward waters of 1 to 2 meters for fishing. If the weather is cold after the "Winter Solstice", it is better to choose a fishing point with a water depth of 2 to 4 meters. Or choose the deeper side of the boundary between deep and shallow water. If there are potholes in the surrounding shallow water, use the potholes in the deep water as a point, or choose fixed points to fish in grass holes and roundabout corners, or in the deep water of Huajian Peninsula, which is the best choice for winter fishing. . 3. Use of fishing tackle. The target fish for winter fishing is mainly small crucian carp. In this cold winter water, their bodies are stiff and they swim slowly, their eating movements are light, and their mouths are small. For this reason, the fishing tackle used must be suitable for the eating habits of winter fish, and it is appropriate to use "soft rods, thin lines, and small hooks" for assembly and use. 1. The rod is soft. Use a soft-adjustable hand pole about 5 meters long to avoid accidents if the pole is lifted improperly and the fish lip is pulled open and the fish escapes. 2. Thin lines. The line should be thin line of size 0.6 to 1, which is not only suitable for fishing crucian carp, but also has good concealment when submerged in the water, so fish can boldly bite the hook, which is beneficial to increasing the hook rate. 3. The hook is small. Use Iseni No. 3 to 5 small hooks. The small hooks can pass through thin bait, which can make it easier for fish of all sizes to swallow the hook and catch it easily with one suction port. 4. Falling light and beautiful. When adjusting the float, adjust the sinking force of the hook pendant and the buoyancy of the float to a basic balance. Put it into the water and see that the float sinks slowly. If one grain floats loosely, it is better to have 2 eyes in the standing float. In this way, the float is very sensitive, and the tiny movements of the fish biting the hook are also reflected clearly in the floating fish signal, which is helpful for the fishermen to lift the pole and catch the fish in time. 4. Use of bait. The sense of smell and vision of winter fish are not sensitive, and the colder the water, the greater the resistance. If you still put the general summer bait into the water, its penetrating power is not strong, and the fish luring effect will not be good. Therefore, the bait used in winter is fishier and sweeter than in summer and autumn, and the number of nests should be large for the best fishing effect. 1. bait. Saute 1 kilogram of chicken or pig feed until fragrant, add 100 grams of rapeseed powder that is stir-fried and beaten into fine powder, and 500 grams of fried corn (beaten into powder), mix the three and put them into a large bottle for later use. When you need it for fishing, pour enough fragrant powder for making a nest for one day, mix it with rice water, knead it into 3 to 5 bait balls as big as glutinous rice balls, and put them into the nest. After years of practice, it is not only simple and convenient, but also effective in luring fish. 2. Bait. "Winter meat and summer vegetarian" is an effective experience summed up by senior fishermen based on different seasons and different feeding habits of fish. However, in practical applications, the effectiveness of vegetarian bait is not excluded. Fishing is better. Using small red earthworms, maggots, red worms, shrimps, etc. as meat bait is actually the best choice for winter fishing bait. Because these excellent baits are not only colorful, fragrant and fishy, ??small in body and tender in texture, but also contain high protein and rich nutrients, they are favored by fish. As long as the hook threading method is correct, the hooking rate will be high. Here I will briefly introduce my earthworm hook threading method as follows for the reference of fishing friends. The method is to choose a small red earthworm about 4 cm long, insert the hook tip about 1 cm from the head of the earthworm by 2 mm, then pierce the hook tip, and then insert the hook tip 1 cm from the tail of the earthworm by 2 mm. Then thread the hook tip out; finally, move the threaded earthworm back to the barb of the hook and then cast bait for fishing (if the earthworm is large, you can cut it into two parts. Threading the hook in this way is better than threading a full hook for fishing) . The wonderful thing about this method of threading the hook is that it does not damage the earthworm’s head nerves and five internal organs in the abdomen. Therefore, when it is put into the nest for fishing, the earthworm can survive on the hook for a long time, and its head and tail will keep moving against each other. .

According to my observation results when I filled a washbasin with water in the winter and put earthworms into the water using the above method of threading the hook, the earthworms on the hook survived in the water for 75 minutes, and the head and tail wriggled against each other for 25 minutes but they were not dead. As long as they were lifted gently Move the hook bait and it will continue to squirm. Undoubtedly, if you use this method to thread the hook, the earthworms will keep squirming in the water, which can increase the visibility of the fish to the bait, stimulate the appetite and encourage the fish to bite the hook, and the hook rate will of course be better. For example, every time I go fishing in winter with other fishing friends, we use earthworms as bait in the same fishing ground, in the same section of water, but each of us has a different method of threading the hook, and the amount of fish caught is completely different. 5. Winter fishing skills. During these nine cold winters, the fish stayed dormant in the deep water and ate less and moved less. Even when they were hungry and forced to eat, they would open their mouths and make slight movements. The news of fish floating on the water was never as sharp and clear as in summer and autumn. For this reason, if you still stick to the same fishing method as bottom fishing in other seasons during winter fishing, your wait will definitely be in vain. Therefore, if you know that there is a fish in the nest that refuses to bite the hook, you should immediately adopt the technique of winning by moving. In a small area centered on the nest, hold the fishing rod intermittently, or lift and pull it left and right or front and back. You can turn defeat into victory and catch more fish. However, it is required that all movements must be light and slow, otherwise it will be counterproductive. If the movements are too big, the fish in the nest will inevitably be frightened away, making it difficult and regrettable to catch again.
