China Academy of Fine Arts is a famous university. China Academy of Fine Arts, hereinafter referred to as Gome, is located in Nanshan Road, Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. There are also Xiangshan Campus, Zhangjiang Campus and Liangzhu Campus, which belong to art state-owned universities.

Founded in 1928, the school is called the National Art Institute, with four departments of Chinese painting, western painting, sculpture and design, as well as preparatory courses and research departments. 1929 was renamed as National Hangzhou Art College; 1938 changed to National Academy of Arts.

1950 became East China Branch of Central Academy of Fine Arts; 1958 was renamed as Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. 1993 was renamed as China Academy of Fine Arts. Before 2000, it was managed by the Ministry of Culture. In 2000, it became a key university for provincial offices. In 20 16, it was approved to build colleges and universities for the people's government of Zhejiang province, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture.

China Academy of Fine Arts is a national "double-class" construction university, and the first batch of key construction universities in Zhejiang Province (provincial key). It is a university jointly established by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Schools and fine arts disciplines have been selected as national "double-class" discipline construction universities for two consecutive rounds.

China ranks second among the eight Academy of Fine Arts. In the international ranking of Academy of Fine Arts, Gome is higher than Central America (Gome ranks eighth and Central America ranks 35th)! Gome's academic qualifications are more internationally recognized, and graduates go abroad for further study. Gome is the only art university in China recognized by UNESCO.
