Baoding was once the capital of Zhili, the official residence of Zhili governor, and the earliest capital of Hebei Province. From 1669 to 1968, it has long been the political, economic and cultural center of Hebei. Baoding is one of the central cities of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
