Malan Village is located at 35°47′ north latitude and 114°03′ east longitude, 14 kilometers northeast of Wulong Town. Malan Village is surrounded by mountains on all sides, Hebi City to the east, south and north, and Hebi City to the west. Nianshang Village borders two natural villages, Malan and Yayuan, with an area of ??10 square kilometers and 900 acres of cultivated land. There are 9 villager groups, 442 households, and a population of 1,725. The name of the village comes from historical events. It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, several households had just moved here from under the old locust tree in Hongdong. At the dawn of a severe winter, a group of bandits and bandits came here to plunder. The bandit cavalry had just arrived at Xuan. Under the salty bean rocks on the mountainside of Yangshan Mountain, strong winds blew up, flying sand and rocks, forcing the bandits and horses to stop moving forward. Although the bandit whipped his horse hard, the horse just neighed and refused to move. The neighing of the horses woke up the sleeping villagers. People rolled down stones from the top of the mountain, smashing the bandit horse team and fleeing in confusion. In order to commemorate the successful battle against the bandits, the villagers named the village "Banma" village. Later, they felt that the name "Banma" did not go smoothly, so they reversed the two words and called it "Malan" village. On the 29th of the second lunar month in 1949, the famous "Battle of Malan" took place in Malan Village. Wang Sanzhu, a remnant of the Kuomintang, tried to escape from Hebi through Malan to the depths of the Taihang Mountains. The Dongshan Militia Battalion headed by Liu Baozhu was defeated in Malan and retreated. Hebi was finally eliminated by the People's Liberation Army. When the Hongqi Canal was built in the 1960s, villager Wang Moniu was named a special model worker. Xuanyang Mountain in the west of Malan Village is also called Malan Laoye Peak. There is a magnificent Ancestral Temple on the top of the mountain. Standing on the top of the mountain, you can have a panoramic view of the rippling Panshitou Reservoir.
Malan Village and Yanghe Village, Changpo Village, Nanwo Village, Niujiagang Village, Xuejiagang Village, Hemaizhang Village, Hetou Village, Lingnan Village, Chengyu Village, Sangyu Village, Wenyu Village, Chenjiagang Village, Linghou Village and Lijia'ao Village are adjacent to each other.
In January 2021, the Henan Patriotic Association named Malan Village as the 2020 provincial health village in Henan Province.
Near Malan Village there are Linzhou Liu's Manor, Chengyu Ancient City, Hongqi Canal-Taihang Grand Canyon Scenic Area, Linzhou Peach Blossom Valley Scenic Area, Taihang Grand Canyon Scenic Area and other tourist attractions, as well as Linzhou Tea Shop Taihang chrysanthemum, Linzhou Tea Shop persimmon cake, Donggang pepper, Donggang walnut, Linzhou Dongyao millet and other specialties.
