What's so particular about the couplets on the gate?

If there is a pair of white couplets hanging on the door frame, it means that someone has just died in this family. If the couplets are blue, it means that someone in this family died in the past year. If the couplet is yellow, it means that someone in this family died two years ago. Three years later, the color of couplets will be the same as that of ordinary people, red. Is it like this in your place?
