Why is the king buried in an unfinished tomb? Why is Chu Ling in such a hurry to finish?
The Chu tomb has a ceiling from the top of Lion Mountain, and after excavating 17 meters, it excavated 12 underground tombs with a total area of more than 850 square meters, and a Lion Mountain was almost hollowed out. This mausoleum with ceiling is unprecedented. Although the tomb has long been stolen, more than 2,000 precious cultural relics have been unearthed, including gold, silver, copper, iron, jade, stone, pottery and other textures, among which there are many artistic treasures, such as carved dragon jade fan, jade bracelet, carved jade ornaments and flat tiger jade ornaments. What is particularly commendable is that scientists successfully restored the image of the king of Chu 2 100 years ago for the first time according to the remains of the king of Chu left by tombs.
But only archaeologists are puzzled: the tomb walls are uneven, some are very smooth, and some are very rough. There is a room on the east side of the tunnel, the depth is less than 1 m, and there are no funerary objects. In addition, the original tomb facilities are not perfect, and the terracotta warriors and horses buried with them are not arranged neatly as expected. Is this an unfinished cemetery? If so, why is the famous king of Chu buried in an unfinished tomb?
To solve these mysteries, we must first start with the identity of the owner of the cemetery. Through the analysis of a large number of coins and seals, archaeologists determined that among the two kings of Chu in Han Dynasty 12, only Liu Wu could be the owner of this ancient tomb.
How many people are there in Liu Wu? He is the third generation king of Chu, Emperor Han Jingdi, his cousin. His position is very famous, but he is also a child of the upper class. At that time, in order to prevent the vassals from threatening the central government, Emperor Han Jing ordered "cutting the vassals", which led to the chaos of the Seven Kingdoms led by Wu Wang and Liu Ying. Liu E then joined the rebellion. After the "Seven Kingdoms Rebellion" was finally pacified, Liu Wu had to commit suicide. History books are written here, but there is no following. Some people say that according to the situation at that time, Liu Wu's family saw that the central authorities were going to reduce them to ordinary people, and immediately buried Liu Wu according to the specifications of the princes, thinking that many terracotta warriors and horses could be put down hastily and could not be lined up.
However, this is only speculation. What is the real situation, lack of historical materials, or archaeology can not find more content, can only temporarily doubt, waiting for future progress.
