The origin of the name "Wang Anshi"
Wang Anshi was the prime minister during the Northern Song Dynasty and a writer. Why is he called Wang Anshi? Here is a story. According to legend, Wang Anshi's grandfather was seriously ill. Wang Anshi's father wanted to bury him in a place with good feng shui and dragon veins a hundred years later, but he never found it. In the early years, I believed in Feng Shui, and there were also Earth Immortals who looked at Feng Shui. One day, Wang Anshi's father asked an Earth Immortal to help with Feng Shui. This Earthly Immortal had been watching Xiama Mountain for three years, but he couldn't get it right. The Earth Immortal saw dragon veins at the bottom of the mountain, but when he looked up the mountain, he couldn't see anything.
There was a woodcutter on the mountain who made a living by collecting firewood. He saw the Earth Fairy walking around on the mountain every day. He felt very strange. He asked the Earth Fairy, and the Earth Fairy said he was just for fun. In this way, the Earthly Immortal has been wandering around the mountain for three years. One day the woodcutter asked the Earth Immortal again: "Old man, what are you looking at on the mountain all the time?" At this time, the Earth Immortal really had no choice but to say to the woodcutter: "Looking from a distance, there are indeed dragon veins on this mountain. Look, I can't find it." The woodcutter pointed and said, "You don't have to look, there is a dragon vein under that big tree." After the earth fairy noticed it, he immediately told Wang Anshi's father. Wang Anshi's father dug a hole under the big tree according to the instructions of the Earth Immortal. This pit is very strange, just big enough to hold a coffin, and surrounded by rocks.
After burying Wang Anshi’s grandfather, Wang Anshi’s father named his son Wang Anshi. Legend has it that this is the origin of Wang Anshi's name.
