Yuhua Palace is the only Royal Summer Palace in western China, which integrates Buddhist chanting, vacation and ice and snow tourism. It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot, a national forest park, a national youth outdoor sports camp and a national key cultural relics protection unit. It is 20 kilometers away from Xi and International Airport/KLOC-0 in the south and 55 kilometers away from Huangdi Mausoleum in the north. The planned area of the first phase of the scenic spot is 32 square kilometers, the forest coverage rate is 95.6%, the annual average temperature of the scenic spot is 8.4℃, and the annual average relative temperature is 75%, so it has the reputation of "natural oxygen bar". The natural landscape and human landscape of the scenic spot complement each other. Yuhua Palace is a green ocean, the soul of the mountain, the flag of the wind and a loose character. It is quiet, secluded, vast and deep, and the scenery is pleasant, just like a fairyland. "Traveling for a while is terrible, but staying for a long time is afraid of becoming a fairy." The former Yuhua Palace was the summer palace of the third emperor of the Tang Dynasty, and there was a place where the Crown Prince was detained. A generation of eminent monk, Master Pi Ling, translated scriptures, gave lectures, made caves and statues, promoted Buddhism, and founded Faxiang Sect, a Buddhist sect prevailing in Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia, making Yuhua Palace the center of Buddhism communication in the world at that time. In 664 AD, Master Xuanzang died in Sucheng Courtyard of Yuhua Palace. Now, the ruins of ancient palaces (monasteries) are well preserved, and the first-class national cultural relics such as Buddhism, Buddha's footprints and Buddha's head made by Xuanzang himself have been unearthed successively, and the "Buddha's Trace" written by Master Xuanzang himself (the only one in China) and the poems praised by scholars such as Du Fu and Wei Yuan have been collected.
At present, the scenic spot has complete infrastructure such as water, electricity, roads and communication, and complete services such as tourism, shopping, entertainment, food, housing and transportation. A large number of tourist attractions have been built and restored, mainly including Xuanzang Memorial Hall, Cave Temple, Suzhou City Wall Site and Guoyu Valley Ecological Scenic Area. It has formed a unique pilgrimage tour of Xuanzang Buddhism, a royal summer vacation and leisure tour, and an ice and snow sports experience tour.
