Minnan dialect originated in Quanzhou. Mainly distributed in southern Fujian and Taiwan Province Province, it is also widely used in most Chinese communities in northeastern Fujian, southeastern Zhejiang, Chaoshan and Hailufeng areas in Guangdong, Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong, Hainan Island and Southeast Asia.
Academically, Quanzhou dialect is the standard accent. Even in places with different accents in Minnan dialect, Gaojia Opera, Liyuan Opera and Nanyin are still sung in Quanzhou Gufucheng dialect. Today, Minnan language has become one of the representatives of 60 major languages on the earth, and it has also been recorded on the gold-plated records of the spacecraft Voyager 1 2 launched by the United States 1977, reaching infinity.
The word Minnan has broad and narrow meanings. In a broad sense, it refers to the collection of Minnan language families, and in a narrow sense, it only refers to the Minnan languages of Fujian and Taiwan Province. Scholars in Taiwan Province Province and the West believe that it is a language and belongs to the Chinese language family. In the classification of continental linguistics, it belongs to a kind of Min language in Chinese language family. Minnan dialect has different names in different places, such as Quanzhou dialect, Zhangzhou dialect, Xiamen dialect, Fujian dialect, Heluo dialect and so on. Minnan dialect in a narrow sense is mainly distributed in Fujian, China, eastern Guangdong and Taiwan Province provinces, as well as most of Longyan City and xinluo district, zhangping city, most of Datian District, Sanming City, a small part of Youxi County, Fuding District, Ningde City, eastern Fujian, Cangnan County, Pingyang County, Dongtou County, Yuhuan County, parts of Wenling, Hainan and Leizhou Peninsula in southern Zhejiang. At the same time, they are also distributed in other parts of Chinese mainland and other countries and regions in Southeast Asia, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Brunei.
