(1) Ephedra has strong sweating ability, so it should be used with caution by ordinary children, elderly patients and people with weak constitution. Although the syndrome belongs to exogenous wind-cold, it should be used with caution for those who are sweating.

(2) Ephedra is generally suitable for the treatment of excess syndrome, and its clinical manifestations are aversion to wind and cold, shortness of breath, fatigue, spontaneous sweating during exercise, pale tongue with white fur and weak pulse.

(3) Ephedra is warm in nature, pungent in taste, rather dry and intense, and easy to injure yin and promote blood circulation. (5) Women with yin deficiency and blood heat whose clinical manifestations are hematemesis, hemoptysis, hematochezia, hematuria, epistaxis, subcutaneous purpura or menorrhagia should not be used, although they have symptoms such as exogenous cold, chest tightness and cough.
