Can juren live in a house with three entrances and three exits?
In ancient houses, it is not the size of the yard that distinguishes the noble from the poor, but the specifications of the gate. Juren can have no official position, but as long as they have money, they can buy a courtyard with three entrances and three exits, but the organizational system of the gate must conform to their own identity, or they will be killed. For example, in the Qing Dynasty, the house doors were divided into Wang Fu Gate (facing the central line of the courtyard, accounting for five rooms and three doors, with a middle door and a side door for putting lions), Zhu Jin Gate (opening in a corner of the courtyard, accounting for three rooms and three doors), Liang Guangmen (opening in a corner, accounting for one room, facing the gate) and Ruyi Gate (opening in a corner, accounting for one room). Generally, rich people without official positions use Ming Gate or Ruyi Gate.
