Feng Shui in Qufu

This is because Confucius once said that the geomantic omen of the family cemetery is related to the rise and fall of future generations. But Confucius' cemetery is not perfect, and there is still a river to be built. However, Qin Shihuang made a mistake by mistake, but he dug an artificial river in the Confucius cemetery, with excellent feng shui. Therefore, the descendants of Confucius were very happy and said that the excavation was good.

Confucius' family cemetery is also called Kong Lin. Since ancient times, hundreds of thousands of Confucius and his descendants have been buried. More than 2,400 years later, Kong Lin is still intact, which many people think is because of its good geomantic omen. Legend has it that no matter what natural disasters happen in the local area, the plants near Kong Lin grow well, will not wither, the soil will not dry up, and there are no mice and snakes, so this is a land of geomantic omen.

According to ancient books, when Confucius was 73 years old, he had a premonition that his time was coming, so he took Zigong to find a cemetery near Qufu. Finally, he found a treasure trove of geomantic omen by the Sishui River in the north of the city, and told his descendants that he would be buried here after his death.

After the death of Confucius, later generations built a mausoleum for Confucius here and buried him in it. However, this mausoleum is not particularly perfect. It was not until 270 years after the death of Confucius that Qin Shihuang made up for this very important defect.

We have all heard the historical story of Qin Shihuang burning books and burying Confucianism, and as a representative of Confucianism, Confucius is the first object. Qin Shihuang had Confucius' home copied and Confucius' grave dug to destroy Feng Shui.

In order to stop the geomantic omen in Kong Lin, Qin Shihuang's army dug a small river between Kong Lin's cemetery and his hometown. Within a few years, the Qin Dynasty perished and the Han Dynasty was established. Since then, Confucianism has been reused, and the status of Confucius and his descendants has certainly become very high.

Later Confucius believed that this had a lot to do with the river dug by Qin Shihuang when he dug the tomb. Thanks to this river, Kong Lin's geomantic omen was perfect, the family was able to reproduce from generation to generation, and Kong Lin was perfectly preserved for 2,400 years. Of course, the descendants of Confucius should applaud Qin Shihuang's grave digging behavior!
