Which direction does the Buddha face?

If the Buddha and Bodhisattva are enshrined at home, the Buddha statue should be placed in the middle or on the back, and the Bodhisattva statue should be placed on both sides or in front. Only by making the Buddha stand out can it show its dignity. The size of the icon should be commensurate with the spatial position of the Buddhist altar and the Buddhist temple, neither too big nor too small. Families don't need too much, too complicated and too messy to worship Buddha and Bodhisattva icons. One Buddha can represent ten thousand buddhas, and one bodhisattva can represent all buddhas and bodhisattvas. Most families worship Guanyin Bodhisattva, Sakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha and Pharmacist Buddha. You can choose one of them.

After inviting the Buddha and Bodhisattva icons, most people advocated holding the opening ceremony. From the Buddhist point of view, the opening ceremony is not necessarily necessary. Because the Buddha-Bodhisattva statue is only used as a tool for practice, the Buddha-Bodhisattva's induction is there, and the icon is the object of worship. Without idols, there is no object to worship, support and respect. Through this kind of practice, you can get the benefits of practice and get the induction of Buddha and Bodhisattva. But the most important thing is the feeling of confidence, piety and respect, not the icon itself. Therefore, it doesn't matter whether the icon is open or not. As long as the icons are placed and worshipped with piety and reverence, and then offerings such as incense, flowers and fruits are offered, and they are kept fresh, tidy and clean day after day, the sacred atmosphere where the icons are located will be displayed, thus arousing the Taoist mind of practitioners.
