Brief introduction of brown mountain township
Menghai county governs villages and towns. More than 2,000 years ago, the Pu people first settled here, named "Puman Mountain". In ancient times, Man San and Man Xin belonged to the propaganda department of Che Zhong, and the rest belonged to the mixed toast department of Meng. Because of the surname, it is called Brown Mountain. 1950 was a mixed area of Meng, and 1953 established the Bulang Autonomous Region of Brown Mountain, which belongs to Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Region (state). 1958 established Brown Mountain, 1969 established Wuyi Commune, 1973 established Brown Community, 1984, 1987 established Brown Township in Brown Mountain. It is located in the mountainous area in the south of the county, bordering Myanmar in the south and west, 9 1 km away from the county. Area 10 16 km2, population 160,000. There is a highway leading to the county seat. It has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages, namely Meng 'ang, Nanwen, Guo Man, Liang Jie, Banzhang, Mandong, Mansang and Zhangjia. Crops are mainly upland rice and corn, and sugarcane, tea, southern medicine, fruit and so on are produced. The vast grassland is suitable for the development of animal husbandry. The forest is dense and produces wood. Bulang people believe in Buddhism. Brown Mountain is the only brown ethnic township in China. Bulang nationality, known as "Puman" and "Puren" in past dynasties. After liberation, the state changed "Puman" to Bulang nationality.
