The main seismic belts (fault zones) in Songyuan, Jilin Province are Nenjiang fault in the northeast, the eastern margin of Songliao Basin, Yitong-Lan Shu fault, Dunhua-Mishan fault, Hunjiang fault, Yalu river fault and the second Songhua River fault in the northwest.
If there is an earthquake, you should:
1. Don't worry when there is a big earthquake: the average time from when people feel the vibration to when the building is destroyed is only 12 seconds. Don't panic in this short time. You should make a quick choice according to your environment to ensure safety. If you live in a bungalow, you can run to the door quickly. If you live in a building, don't jump off a building. You should immediately cut off the switch and gas, take refuge in places with small spans such as toilets, or under tables and beds, and evacuate quickly after the earthquake to prevent strong aftershocks.
2. Many people should first look for hiding places: if there is an earthquake in schools, shops, theaters and other places where people gather, they should avoid panic. They should immediately hide under desks, chairs or solid objects, and then evacuate in an orderly manner after the earthquake. Teachers and other field workers must calmly instruct people to take electric shocks on the spot and never take the lead in running around.
3. Stay away from the danger zone: If you encounter an earthquake in the street, cover your head with your hand and quickly stay away from the building and go to the center of the street. If you encounter an earthquake in the suburbs, you should pay attention to stay away from cliffs, steep slopes, river banks and high-voltage lines. Moving cars and trains should stop at once.
4. If you are buried, save your strength: If you are unfortunately buried in the ruins after the earthquake, try to stay calm and try to save yourself. When you can't get out of danger, you should save your strength, try your best to find water and food, create living conditions, and wait patiently for rescuers.
People buried by collapsed buildings in the earthquake should strengthen their confidence in being rescued, properly protect themselves and actively implement self-help as long as they are conscious and have no major physical trauma.
1. Cover your nose, mouth and head with wet towels, clothes or other cloths as much as possible to prevent suffocation due to dust choking and avoid injuries caused by further collapse of buildings.
2. Try to move your hands and feet to get rid of the dust on your face and the objects pressing on your body.
3. Support the weight above the body with movable objects around to avoid further collapse; Expand the activity space and keep enough air.
4. When several people are buried at the same time, encourage each other, plan together, unite and cooperate, and take action to escape when necessary.
5. Find and avoid the passage, try to escape from the danger and move towards a brighter, safer and more spacious place.
6. You can't get away from the danger for a while, so save your energy. If you can find substitutes and water, you should plan to save and use it, try to prolong the survival time and wait for rescue.
7. Save your strength and don't call for help blindly. It's quiet around, or when you hear someone walking above (outside), knock on the wall with bricks, iron pipes and other things to send a message to the outside world. Call for help when you are sure that someone is not far away.
