How to apply ecological thought to landscape design?

At every step of the design, we should consider environmental protection as much as possible. Whether it is materials or energy, we should try to use environmentally friendly materials. This is the most basic and important ecological concept. For example, on the pavement, water-permeable bricks are used on the premise of satisfying good use as much as possible, because rainwater can return to the earth and underground creatures can exchange air and water. 2. Under different scales, there are different emphases. For example, hydrological resources, biological migration and so on should be considered on a large scale. Mesoscale should consider microclimate, biological relationship and so on. In a small scale, it may be necessary to pay attention to specific planting methods, plant selection and so on. All these require some ecological knowledge, but I think designers are not experts, and consulting ecological experts and consulting literature is more efficient than re-learning and re-applying.
