This geomantic treasure is named after the Liuhua Ancient Bridge of the Southern Han Dynasty. The Liuhua Subdistrict Office of the Yuexiu District People's Government was prepared in May 1974 according to the decision of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and established in September of the same year. The name at that time was Liuhua Street Revolutionary Committee. The first people to participate in the preparations were Wang Qashi, Liu Shisu, Zhonglou, Chen Tianzhuang and others. The office was located at the entrances on both sides of the provincial bus station. It borrowed a small house as an office. There were no desks and chairs (borrowed from the district). Later, in order to facilitate the people to do things, the office was moved to No. 11, Guihuagang 3rd Street. In 1980, when the new office building was built, the office moved to No. 84 Zhanqian Road (1st to 3rd floors). In 2000, it moved to its current location: No. 8, Guihuagang South Street, Jiefang North Road, Guangzhou.
In the early days of the Republic of China, the area under the jurisdiction of Liuhua Street in Yuexiu District was just a few villages, vegetable fields, swamps and hills, and there were many barren graves on the mountains. In the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, this area was quiet and deserted. In 1955, the Sino-Soviet Friendship Building was built in the Liuhua Bridge area next to Xiangshan Hill - a window for Guangzhou people to understand the outside world. With the completion of the Guangzhou Railway Station and the Provincial Passenger Terminal and the relocation of the China Export Commodity Fair from Haizhu Square to the former Sino-Soviet Friendship Building, the Liuhua area has become the transportation hub and trade center of Guangzhou.
