The mausoleums of Wei and Jin emperors and empresses
Most of the tombs of Wei and Jin emperors and empresses are buried in Shouyang Mountain in Yanshi City, Luoyang City today. Shouyang Mountain is located to the north of the ancient city of the Han and Wei dynasties. It stretches for more than 30 miles from east to west. It is the highest point of Mang Mountain. Because the sun rises first, it is named Shouyang Mountain. During the Han and Wei dynasties, Shouyang Mountain also generally referred to Mang Mountain in the north of the city. Each hilltop of Shouyang Mountain has a specific mountain name. The Boyi and Shuqi temples are on the top of the mountain of Guozi, which is the top of the original Mang Mountain. The south of the mountain is an alluvial platform, high in the north and low in the south. This area pillows Mang Mountain to the north, looks to Yi and Luo to the south, and is surrounded by mountains and rivers. It is a very open flat land, which is an ideal geomantic treasure land for tombs. Cao Wei Mausoleum District and Western Jin Mausoleum District were chosen in this area. The Cao Wei Mausoleum District is adjacent to the West Jin Mausoleum District to the east and the East Han Mausoleum District to the west.
