Xuanwei has a long history. Before the Qin Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Gu Yelang. Counties were set up in the Western Han Dynasty, Mazhou in the Tang Dynasty and Yizhou in the Yuan Dynasty. On the establishment of Xuanwei House in Yizhou in the fifth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1727). In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), the state was divided into counties. On June 30th 1954, it was renamed Rongfeng County,1October 30th 1959, 165438 restored the name of Xuanwei County. 1February 1994 18 xuanwei county was abolished and Xuanwei city (county-level city) was established.

13 towns are Reshui Town, dongshan town, longtan town, Wude Town, Longchang Town, Ruotang Town, Yangchang Town, Geyi Town, Tianba Town, Baoshan Town, Haidai Town, Luoshui Town and Liu Yang Town.
These seven townships are: Shuanghe Township, Adu Township, Lefeng Township, Delu Township, Xize Township, Wenxing Township and Puli Township.
These eight streets are: Banqiao Street, Fenghua Street, Fenghuang Street, Laibin Street, Hongqiao Street, Shuanglong Street, Xining Street and Wanshui Street.
At the end of the year, the permanent population of the city was 6.5438+0.3856 million, and the registered population was 6.5438+0.55/kloc-0.7 million, including 723,500 urban residents and 828,200 rural residents. The male population is 8 1.90 million, and the female population is 732,700. The sex ratio is 1 1.78: 100.
