1. Nothing grows around the mausoleum of Empress Dowager Cixi.
Empress Dowager Cixi and the downfall of the Qing Dynasty were all related to her. She was greedy for power, lived a luxurious life and did many things that endangered the country and people. She is also an important person in history. Generally, people who have power and land will attach great importance to their own affairs. Cixi is no exception. While she was still alive, she began to prepare for her funeral. When she was alive, she gave such a death order, that is, let ministers think of various ways to prevent their graves from growing grass.
2. The Tomb of Cixi
Cixi was buried in Dingdong Mausoleum, a mausoleum in the east of Qing Dynasty, named "Dingdong Mausoleum in Putuo Valley". Cixi is a superstitious person. She believes that there is an afterlife, a soul and ghosts after death. Therefore, the tombs after death must be luxurious in order to enjoy the same splendor as before. Her tomb was in Tomb-Sweeping Day on March 9th, 12th year of Tongzhi. Emperor Tongzhi personally surveyed Feng Shui and renamed Putuo Mountain, a treasure trove of Feng Shui, as her mausoleum.
Cixi is very strict about her tomb.
When Cixi visited the mausoleum under construction before her death, she found one thing, that is, the "tomb" of Kangxi Qianlong mentioned above grew green grass. Cixi was very uncomfortable after reading it. This memory made Cixi feel uncomfortable with the image of long grass in the tomb. She always feels that after death, it is exactly the same as the tomb of ordinary people. Cixi, who has always had a good face, can never tolerate such a thing.
Because Cixi holds real power, no one dares not listen to him. Therefore, no matter how difficult it is to keep nothing growing around the mausoleum, she will do it.
