As far as raw materials are concerned, black tea is a primary coarse tea made from the coarse, old and fresh leaves of lobular tea tree, while Pu 'er tea is a reprocessed tea made from the unique sun-cured coarse tea in Yunnan.
In terms of sales, black tea is mainly made into pressed tea for edge selling, which belongs to edge selling tea, while Pu 'er tea includes Pu 'er group tea, Pu 'er cake tea, Pu 'er tea, Pu 'er brick tea and Pu 'er paste, which can be used for edge selling, domestic sales and export.
From the production technology, black tea belongs to basic tea and Pu 'er tea belongs to reprocessed tea, so the production technology of the two is also very different.
The historical development stage of Pu 'er tea;
1, the first stage (Tang and Song Dynasties): The Central Plains has entered the stage of cake tea, while Yunnan Pu 'er tea is in the free development period of the method of scattered collection and no collection.
2. The second stage (Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties): The tea culture in the Central Plains has undergone great changes under the will of Ming Taizu, but the production of Pu 'er tea has developed rapidly because the main consumer groups are ethnic minorities in the border areas and the needs of long-distance transportation. As Pu 'er tea was favored by the Qing court because of its tribute, it entered the heyday of development, which was a real geographical Pu 'er tea stage.
3. The third stage (since the late Qing Dynasty): modern Pu 'er tea stage. Modern Pu 'er tea processing technology has sprouted, and the social pattern of diversified tea production has emerged.
