There is a thousand-year-old town in Shanwei, hidden in the downtown area, but now it is little known.

Speaking of Shanwei, you may think of all kinds of delicious food, Fengshan Mazu, Red Bay, and a mouth-watering seafood feast. In fact, there is such a small town near Shanwei City. That's Jiesheng Ancient Town, located in the southeast of Shanwei City, not far from the urban area, and it can be reached in about half an hour. This town is famous for its history. According to historical records, the ancient town was built in the twenty-eighth year of Ming Hongwu.

According to legend, thousands of families led the officials and people to bravely fight against the Japanese pirates and defeat them, so they changed their names to Jiesheng. At that time, Jiesheng was an important coastal defense place in the Ming Dynasty. Because of the war at that time, the garrison troops in the north and the ancestors who moved here from Fujian, Jiangxi and Chaozhou brought their own culture. Therefore, the culture of Central Plains, South Fujian and other places is integrated here. At the same time, due to its important geographical location, business contacts are also very active and talented people come forth in large numbers.

After hundreds of years of historical and cultural accumulation and inheritance, this ancient town still retains many remarkable places of interest, human history, folk art, myths and legends and so on. When you come here, you can enjoy the prosperity of the old site and taste the long history. At the same time, the tourism resources here are also very rich, including the Shakeng cultural site, Ye, Dedao Temple, Guiling Island, Baishi Temple and Shigou Lake.

The famous temple on the hillside of the first mountain on the coast of Jiesheng Town, also known as Yunshan, covers an area of 600 square meters and is only 0.5 kilometers away from the town center. This place is known as the elegant artistic conception of "listening to the waves playing Sanskrit offshore and watching the sky from afar". Because it lives on the coast of eastern Guangdong, it is known as the "first mountain along the coast" and the first of the eight scenic spots in Jiesheng ancient city. This temple has a history of more than 350 years.

According to legend, during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, all the girls who were born were unmarried and worshipped Yuan Zun, the ancestor of Taoism, in the quiet rock of Yunshan to protect the country. She lit the magic lamp in the cave for many years and practiced Xianlu devoutly. During this period, a lonely monk traveled here and saw that this place is elegant and quiet, which is a good place to practice Zen and gain enlightenment. After begging for fate, he and Zhugu built a palace and temple to worship Buddha Sakyamuni and Yuan Zun, the ancestor of Taoism.

Through the efforts of several generations of Buddhist monks and Zhu Gu, Yunshan Temple was built. Soon, Hui Ling Xiangu practiced diligently and lived forever. Believers are Zhu Huiling, the founder of Ji Zun Mountain, who is a nun in Hui Ling in the name of Buddhism and Taoism, and Yunshan Temple is renamed Dao 'an, symbolizing the land where Zhu Gu attained Taoism. And Zhu Gu is a woman, changing the temple into an nunnery. Therefore, the Taoist temple came from here. Dedao Temple is famous for its beautiful environment and numerous cultural landscapes. There is an endless stream of people, and many literati come here to inscribe poems and become a much-told story here.
