1. Hainan Island is a tropical island in the south of China, with an area of 35,400 square kilometers and a population of 9.25 million. The tropical rain forest on the island is dense and the sea water is clear and blue. There are two seasons in a year: dry season and rainy season. Hainan Province is the main land of Sydney-style ellipse, with its long axis running northeast-southwest, 240 kilometers long, 2 10 kilometers wide and an area of about 35,400 square kilometers. It is the second largest island in China after Taiwan Province Island. Hainan Island is low and flat around, high in the middle, with dome-shaped mountainous terrain, with Wuzhishan and Ying Ge Ridge as the core of uplift and gradually descending around. The annular layered landform is composed of mountains, hills, platforms and plains, and has obvious cascade structure.
The terrain of Hainan Island is high in the middle and low around. From the south of the central region to the surrounding coastal areas, mountains, hills, terraces and plains gradually descend, forming a circular layered landform. Among all kinds of landforms, the mountainous areas over 500 meters account for 25.4% of the total island area, hills account for 13.3%, terraces account for 32.6%, and terraces account for 16.
3. Mountains and hills are the core of Hainan Island landform, accounting for 38.7% of the total island area. The mountains are mainly distributed in the south-central part of the island, forming a hilly and low mountain terrain. Wuzhishan and Ying Ge Ridge are the core of mountain uplift, mostly northeast-southwest and east-west, with high terrain. There are 667 peaks above 1000m, of which Wuzhishan is the highest peak in Hainan, with an altitude of1867 m. The mountain breaks to the northeast, forming the Hongmao-Fanyang fault valley, and the northwest of the valley is Limuling-Ying Ge-Monkey Mountain. The southeast of the valley is Wuzhishan-Qingchunling-Mazuiling mountain range. There are Jakarta Ridge, Bawang Ridge and Xianpo Ridge in the west of Hainan Island. These mountains have become the birthplace and watershed of the three major rivers in Hainan Island. Surrounded by mountains, most of them are hills below 500 meters above sea level, mainly distributed in the west, southeast and northern inland of the island.
