Why did Guangxi choose Nanning as the provincial capital?

It turns out that the capital of Guangxi should be Guilin. Nanning, its capital, has both historical and geographical reasons. Liuzhou, as the largest industrial city in Guangxi, is located in the middle of Guangxi, and its geographical position and economic level are obviously superior to Nanning. However, Nanning has been the center of political culture since ancient times. Since the founding of New China, ideology has become the mainstream, which is more important than economic development. Therefore, Nanning was chosen as the capital. Now many people in Liuzhou are still unconvinced and think that Liuzhou is the capital.

Nanning, referred to as Yong for short, is a military town at the junction of Guangdong and Guangxi. Garrison has been stationed here for a long time. They went down the Yongjiang River, crossed Wuzhou and entered the Pearl River Basin, and arrived in Guangzhou in three or five days. Militarily speaking, controlling the Yongjiang River means controlling the Pearl River and Lingnan.

Nanning has belonged to Guangdong Province to the east of the south and Guangxi to the west of the north since ancient times. Here, an interesting phenomenon is that Nanning speaks Cantonese, while Wuming County (now Wuming District of Nanning), 30 kilometers north of Nanning, speaks Guiliu dialect, because the dividing line between Guangdong and Guangxi is between Nanning and Wuming.

Why are there so many bedding on it? That's because later Wuming County (now Wuming District of Nanning City) produced a big man-Lu Rongting, an old warlord in Guangxi. After he mastered the military and political affairs in Guangxi, he set the capital in Nanning, his birthplace. Since then, Nanning has stepped onto the historical stage. In addition, Nanning is an important gateway to the upper reaches of the Pearl River, and its strategic position is second only to Wuzhou, so Nanning is the capital. There is no way, the strategic position has decided! In addition, Lu Rongting, an old warlord, became famous early, and he also wrestled with Yuan Shikai (it is said that Yuan proclaimed himself emperor and later abdicated, which was one of the last straws to crush him when Lu Rongting was electrified in Guangxi). This is well known. Although Bai Chongxi is a new Guangxi, Li Zongren is better. After all, Guilin's strategic position is not as good as that of Nanning (although Guilin County was established as early as Qin Shihuang, Guilin traditionally does not belong to the Pearl River Basin, but is partial to Hunan), so it is inevitable that Nanning will become the capital.
