Distribution map of four famous Taoist mountains in China

The four famous Taoist mountains in China are Yun Qi in Anhui, Wudang Mountain in Hubei, Qingcheng Mountain in Sichuan and Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi. It is the holy land of Taoism in China. The four mountains are dedicated to Purdue Buddha, Zhenwu Emperor, Moral Buddha and Demon Protecting Buddha.

Taoism is a native religion in China. Zhang Daoling was first created in Hemingshan, Sichuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty and became popular in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. The four famous mountains began to build temples in the Eastern Han Dynasty and continued until the late Qing Dynasty. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Taoist temple was repaired under the protection of the state. It has become a famous religious and tourist attraction at home and abroad.
