1. Breeding containers, storage boxes, logistics boxes, fish tanks, etc. can be used to raise pet turtles. Before raising, they should be disinfected with light salt water, potassium permanganate diluent, etc. After disinfection, they should be rinsed repeatedly with clean water. The height of the container should not be too shallow, and the inner wall should not be too rough. Because pet turtles have strong climbing abilities, it is easy for them to escape from a container that is too shallow or too rough. The breeding density should not be too high. Too high a density can easily cause small turtles to fight for food and bring the risk of tail docking.
2. Then there is the water used for raising pet turtles. The water for raising pet turtles can be tap water, well water, etc. that have been dried in the sun for more than two days. After drying, harmful substances such as chlorine in the water can be removed, and at the same time, it can promote the reproduction of algae and probiotics in the water. Pet turtles are highly stress-sensitive and need a long time to adapt to the water quality after arriving in a new environment. Direct use of tap water will cause pet turtles to suffer from various diseases such as skin rot, white eye disease, etc. Therefore, do not use tap water directly for convenience. Raise turtles.
3. The water level for raising turtles is preferably 0.5-1 times the length of the turtle's carapace, so that the turtle can put its head out of the water to breathe at any time. Every time you change the water, you can replace about half of the old water. Pay attention to the temperature of the new water added to be consistent with the old water. The water change time should be carried out every day when the temperature is higher to avoid causing the pet turtle to catch a cold. In addition, filters can be used to purify water quality, enhance water circulation, and reduce the frequency of water changes.
4. The next step is the feeding temperature. The optimal growth temperature for pet turtles is between 25-30 degrees. Too high a temperature will cause heatstroke in the little turtles, and too low a temperature will cause the little turtles to stop eating. . When raising baby turtles in summer, it is necessary to do a good job in preventing heatstroke and cooling to prevent the baby turtles from dying of heat stroke. Then there is the food. You can use various kinds of baby turtle food to raise baby turtles, or you can feed fish, shrimp and meat. At the same time, pay attention to cleaning up fish bones, shrimp guns and other hard residues in the food to avoid scratching the stomach and esophagus of the little turtle. It can be fed once a day, and the amount of each feeding should be enough that the turtle can finish it within 5 minutes. Don't overfeed food.
