Wuzhishan City is a county-level city directly under Hainan Province, located in the hinterland of Wuzhishan in the south-central part of Hainan Island, with geographical coordinates of 18 38'- 19 02' and 109 19'. Wuzhishan city has a mild climate and belongs to tropical maritime monsoon climate. The four seasons are not clear, there is no heat in summer and no cold in winter.
In 2020, Wuzhishan City has four towns, three townships and three cities, 59 village committees, 33/kloc-0 village groups, 4 residents committees and 30 residents groups, living in five communities. Wuzhishan City was formerly known as Tongshi City (county-level) approved by the State Council in June, 1986, and was renamed Wuzhishan City in July, 2006. Wuzhishan, named after Wuzhishan, is a symbol of Hainan Island, and its main peak is in Tongshi City. Wuzhishan City is the central city and transportation hub in the central part of Hainan Island. There are Haikou-Yulin (Middle) Highway (G224), Provincial Highway S3 13 (Maojiu Line) and other highways, and Wuzhishan Bus Station is set up.
