Zhaoqing Pangushan ancestral hall

In the middle of Yuan Dynasty, in the first year of Taiding (1324), Huang Baocai, the leader of Yao in Zhaoqing, was welcomed by the imperial court. At that time, the Pan Hu ancestral hall in Lankeng (one of Yaoshan Mountain) at the northern foot of Beiling needed to move out because the Yao people gradually came out of the mountain and lived with the Han people. Legend has it that the relocation and site selection at that time was due to the traces of ants, and Pangu Kengkou at the southern foot of Beiling was considered a blessed land. In the first year of Tong Yuan (1333), the 10th Emperor Hall (Pangu Ancestor Hall) was built in Pangu Pit. In the third year of Yuan Dynasty (133 1 year) and the eleventh year (135 1 year), Guangdong, Han and Yao jointly resisted the national oppression of Yuan Dynasty and conquered Zhaoqing Fucheng twice with the support of the Guangxi Zhuang Army. The fighting friendship with * * * has promoted mutual respect and harmonious coexistence between Han and Yao in Guangdong and Guangxi. The Ten Emperors Hall (Pangu Ancestor Hall) is a unique cultural relic enshrined in one room by the ancestors of Han and Yao nationalities. In the early 1950s, Pangu ancestral temple was still preserved, but it was demolished in 1956 for various reasons. The original ancestral hall is shaped like Amin and Qing Dynasty architecture, facing south, with a large platform in front and a temple in the back, and a temple bedroom and kitchen on the east side, covering an area of more than 200 square meters. The main entrance is written with four characters "Pangu Ancestral Temple", and there are two stone pillars on the facade, which are divided into three spans. There are shrimp beams on the front, and couplets are engraved on the stone pillars. In the couplets, there are words such as "Open the sky and hang down the elephant, open the ground and open the HarmonyOS system", and the walls are blue brick and clear water walls and blue tile houses. There is a courtyard in the hall, which divides the hall into two parts: the front is low and the back is high. There are wings and corridors on both sides, followed by altars and shrines. There is a statue of Pangu (Yuan God) on the niche, and there are ten ancestor gods worshipped by Han Yao on both sides: Fuxi Emperor (Zang Dijun), Shenlong Emperor (Red Emperor), Xuanyuan Emperor (Yellow Emperor) and Zhuan Xu. The ancestral hall is full of incense and touching atmosphere. Every Lunar New Year 10 Pangu's birthday, the temple fair activities of non-governmental organizations are very lively.

Rebuild the Pangu ancestral temple and make it a sacred place for the general public to worship human ancestors. It is of far-reaching significance to explore the folk culture of Zhaoqing and add highlights to the famous historical and cultural city, and it is also a good thing to conform to the people's will. On June 10, 2003, Zhaoqing Pangu Eco-cultural Scenic Area Tourism Co., Ltd., a private enterprise, invested a huge sum of money to rebuild the Pangu Ancestral Temple in Pangu Scenic Area with excellent geomantic omen.
