Spotted bird (scientific name: Lonchura punctulata) is a small bird with a body length of 10- 12 cm. The mouth is dark brown, the upper body is brown, and the back waist and upper tail are covered with white feathers, forming white scaly spots, and the tail is olive yellow. The chin and throat are dark chestnut brown, and the rest of the lower body is white with obvious dark reddish brown scaly spots. Inhabits in low mountains, hills, foothills and plains below the altitude of1500m, farmland, villages, forest margins, sparse forests and river valleys. In breeding, apart from activities in pairs, they often feed in groups of 20-30 or even hundreds, and sometimes they are mixed with sparrows and white-waisted birds. They feed on crops such as grains, eat grass seeds and fruits and seeds of other wild plants, and eat some insects when breeding. Distributed in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, zhina Peninsula, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
