The Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area is located in the southeast of Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, adjacent to Longwan Village, Zhongquan Township. It is 70km away from Baiyin City in the south, 140km away from Lanzhou City in the west, 26 1km away from Wuwei City in the west, 70km away from Yishan Town in Jingtai County in the northwest, 352km away from Yinchuan City in Ningxia, and 65km away from Jingyuan County in the east.
The scenic area covers an area of 34 square kilometers, of which the stone forest area is 10 square kilometer. Geographical coordinates: east longitude 103? 33'~ 104? North latitude 43', 36? 43'~37? 38', the altitude is between 1340- 1600 meters.
The scenic spot is close to the bank of the Yellow River and consists of the Yellow River, Longwan and meandering. Among them, the exotic landscape in the southwest is the essence of the scenic spot, and the northeast is the terrace formed by the erosion and accumulation of the Yellow River, with the Yellow River as the middle and extending from northeast to southwest. The Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area is located in the transitional zone between the Loess Plateau and Tengger Desert, with high terrain in the southwest and northeast and low terrain in the middle. Mi Jiashan and Songshan in the north-central part, Hunan Mountain and Songjialiang Mountain in the south all belong to the remnant veins of Qilian Mountain. The middle Naoquan sag is a gentle rolling hill; The Yellow River winds from southeast to north in Longwan, forming a deep canyon.
The highest peak in this area is the treetop, with an altitude of 3017.8m, and the lowest point is the Yellow River Basin, with an altitude of1480m. Micro-morphology such as wind erosion pits and wind erosion niches are generally developed on the ditch walls. Wuquan conglomerate on the left bank of the Yellow River forms a one-sided mountain. Altitude1390-1710m, with a relative height difference of 60-205m.
