How to replace the antifreeze in the new Octavia

The full name of antifreeze should be called antifreeze coolant, which means coolant with antifreeze function. Antifreeze can prevent the coolant from freezing and cracking the radiator and freezing the engine cylinder when parking in cold seasons. In the normal maintenance items of a car, the engine antifreeze needs to be replaced every one year of driving. The frequency of antifreeze replacement for special vehicles is higher.

There are three steps to completely replace the antifreeze:

1. Inspection

Before completely replacing the antifreeze, you must first do a comprehensive inspection to see if Whether there are traces of leakage or cracks in each pipe, the key point is to check the five-way water pipe. The five-way pipe is named because it has five interfaces connecting various parts. The antifreeze is distributed to the five-way pipe after flowing through it. Different parts of the car come into play. If there is antifreeze leakage in this part, the water pipe should be replaced or the interface re-fixed according to the situation.

2. Drain the water

Drain the old antifreeze, and then clean the liquid channel with clean water. Add clean water to the antifreeze replenishment tank, then inject clean water into the tank to allow the clean water to continuously flow through the engine cooling system, and then idle the car for 3 to 5 minutes to allow the water to circulate. The water that starts to flow out of the jug will be a little light pink. Continue to pour in water until the water that flows out is clean. Be careful not to forget to remove the heater water pipe and drain the water from the heater water tank.

3. Replace with new fluid

After draining the water for about 1 hour, add new antifreeze from the water pipe of the water tank (radiator). This is a method to quickly flow the antifreeze into the water tank. . Then add another bucket of antifreeze to the antifreeze tank until the antifreeze tank is almost full. Drive the car for about 10 minutes. At this time, the cooling system has eliminated part of the air and the liquid level has dropped. Add the antifreeze again. Go in and fill the reservoir up to the "MAXT" mark.
