In memory of Mr. Zeng Shiqiang

When I was browsing the news, I discovered that at around 9pm on November 11, 2018, Mr. Zeng Shiqiang drove west in peace. I have been busy these past few days, and I just learned this news today. Full of condolences arose spontaneously.

I would like to express my special thanks to him for hosting twenty-six episodes of "The Mystery of the I Ching" and one hundred and sixty episodes of "The Wisdom of the I Ching". Especially the latter. I have watched all the 160 episodes of the program, and I kept persevering during it. The people who watched it worked so hard, one can imagine the difficulty of recording it.

Mr. Zeng Shiqiang, as a wise man who is knowledgeable in both the ancient and modern times and has learned both Chinese and Western knowledge, and a gentle but unswerving man like his father, has brought me endless wisdom and enlightenment.

Based on my identity and career, I will briefly record one or two of the life wisdom that Mr. Zeng taught me. Although I cannot yet implement them all, his person and his actions should be a lifelong role model.

Whenever he records a program, Mr. Zeng always has meticulous hair, wearing a Chinese Tang suit or a suit with a tie; he also always wears a watch and a wedding ring, as if to tell everyone that he values ??work, time and marriage. When you see him, you will feel solemn yet cordial, and you will naturally believe in the teachings he teaches.

Even though Teacher Zeng is so knowledgeable, he is still very open-minded and has no arrogance or disdain to look down on the ignorant and late-learners. On the contrary, he tried his best to use popular language and stories from life and history to make the profound truths easy to understand. Use examples and metaphors to explain complex issues while talking and laughing.

As a township teacher, perhaps we will never be as knowledgeable as Mr. Zeng. But what we can definitely do is face the students with a smile, and given time, we will be able to explain the courses in a simple and easy-to-understand way.

A wise teacher does not just preach the truth, but makes people understand the truth and can practice it in their future lives. Each episode of his Hundred Forums has a clear focus, and there are not many condensed sentences. This allows the audience to accurately grasp the essence of each episode and apply what they have learned.

From the perspective of a teacher, Mr. Zeng made people look up to him.

Many people say that the most important thing in life is life and death. But Mr. Zeng used the words "let it go" to explain his short life.

These four words really express the beauty and shortness of life. Therefore, you should cherish it when you have it, and let it go peacefully when you let it go.

Mr. also practices his own outlook on life. After discovering cancer, he put down his work and lived in harmony with the cancer until he passed away peacefully, although the pain and suffering were unavoidable.

Medium means appropriate and appropriate. 567 between 1 and 10 are actually medium, especially 6 and 7. Things must be reversed at their extremes, and the greatest perfection is actually imperfection with room for it. Life really doesn’t have to be too full, just leave some space and be happy and comfortable.

Righteousness is actually the awareness of respecting rules and hidden rules, the awareness of clarifying the boundaries between oneself and others in the sophistication of human relationships, and the clear awareness of the development limits of oneself and others.

In more than 100 episodes of "The Wisdom of the Book of Changes", the sixty-four hexagrams and the many changes in each hexagram and six lines are actually traceable. Things will turn to their extremes, and the sea will turn into mulberry fields. What remains unchanged in the eternal changes is the right path and conformity to nature. Life is too short, and you should indeed do something, but it is not to act recklessly, but to do what you can, within appropriate limits, and to benefit yourself and others.

Teacher Zeng also made countless money in his life, but in his words, he made people run around and work hard for money! What you are teaching me is just to be a good person, to be a righteous person!

In this age of materialistic desires, although moral cultivation may not necessarily bring wealth and glory, it will certainly bring about inner firmness and calmness in life. Isn't this more precious than money?

The high road leads to righteousness. Do your job well, live every day well, and enjoy the joy and happiness of life itself. This is the message that a teacher should pass on.

Mr. Zeng, I regret that I cannot list all the ways in which my husband has taught me how to behave. I can only say that I am grateful.

This article is written to commemorate Mr. Zeng Shiqiang. He had little talent and little knowledge, and his words did not convey his meaning, but he was full of deep affection.
