What kinds of circulating water systems are there in thermal power plants? What are the main equipment? What is the basic workflow?

There are three main types of circulating water systems in thermal power plants:

1, cooling pool circulating water system. This system uses dams on lakes, reservoirs or rivers to form a cooling pool, and the circulating water absorbs heat in the condenser of the steam turbine and is discharged into the cooling pool, which is naturally cooled by heat exchange with the surrounding air.

2. Fountain circulating water system. The system consists of nozzle, fountain, circulating water pump and pipeline. The circulating water is sent to the condenser by the circulating water pump, and after absorbing heat, it is discharged into the pressure water distribution main pipe, and then enters several water distribution pipes placed on the fountain, and is sprayed by the nozzle. The sprayed circulating water, like umbrella-shaped drizzle, is cooled by air and falls into the pool, flows into the suction well of the circulating water pump through the ditch, and is re-sent to the condenser by the circulating water pump.

3. The circulating water system of cooling tower is divided into natural ventilation and mechanical ventilation according to the ventilation mode of cooling tower. The circulating water system of natural ventilation cooling tower is mainly composed of circulating water pump, cooling tower, water distribution tank, drip pipe, splash plate, pipeline and pool. Under the action of circulating water pump, after heat absorption by condenser, circulating water is sent to the place about 8 ~ 10 meters above the ground in the cooling tower, flows around from the center of the tower through the water distribution tank, and then splashes tiny water droplets under the action of water spraying devices such as drip pipes and splash plates and the cooling tower. After the cooled circulating water falls into the pool, it flows into the circulating water system through the ditch. The only difference is that the ventilation mode of the cooling tower is different. Mechanical ventilation cooling tower forces air to flow through the operation of ventilator to cool circulating water.
