The cliff is engraved with the inscription of the first year of Wuding in the Eastern Wei Dynasty (AD 543). The temple is divided into two parts: ancient qinglian temple and Lian Xinqing Temple. Ancient qinglian temple is at the bottom, and Lian Xinqing Temple is at the top. Ancient qinglian temple was built in Tianbao, Northern Qi Dynasty for three years (552), and was named "qinglian temple" in Xian Tong, Tang Yizong for eight years (867). Lian Xinqing Temple was founded in Sui and Tang Dynasties, and it was named "Fuyan Temple" in the third year of Taiping Xingguo in Song Taizong (978). Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been built in all dynasties. The courtyard is full of cypresses and ginkgo trees, which is quiet and elegant. The construction of qinglian temple is closely related to the activities of Hui Yuan, the founder of Pure Land Sect.
