Where is Laozi's hometown?

Laozi's hometown was Qurenli, Li Xiang Township, an ancient county of Chu in the Spring and Autumn Period, which is now Luyi County, Henan Province.

I was born in Taiqinggong Town, Lu Yi about 2,500 years ago in the Spring and Autumn Period. For more than 2,000 years, Lao Zi's thought has greatly inspired generations of China people, and exerted a great and far-reaching influence on the formation and development of world culture, especially oriental philosophy, and has become the spiritual and cultural wealth of all mankind.

1997, in order to find the related sites of Laozi and understand the true face of Taiqing Palace in history, Henan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, together with the local cultural relics department, investigated and excavated the Taiqing Palace site. Through the investigation and excavation of the site of Taiqing Palace, cultural relics workers have a preliminary understanding of the architectural scale of Taiqing Palace.

After drilling, there is a large area of building foundation in the area of 350,000 square meters around Taiji Hall of Taiqing Palace. Numerous inscriptions show that since the Han Dynasty, the official and folk have always regarded Lu Yitaiying Palace as the hometown of Lao Zi's sacrifice.

Lao Tzu, surnamed Li Minger, was called Bo Yang, or Shu Bo Yang. At the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, the date of birth and death is unknown. He was a thinker, philosopher, writer and historian in ancient China, the founder and main representative of Taoist school.

Major achievements

Laozi's achievements are mainly reflected in the book Laozi. Laozi, also known as Tao Te Ching or Tao Te Ching, the Book of Changes and The Analects of Confucius are considered to be the three masterpieces with the most profound influence on China people. Its completion date was controversial in the past, but it is still uncertain. However, according to the date of Laozi, a bamboo slip unearthed in Guodian in 1993, it was written at least in the middle and early Warring States period.
